Love the idea that the foreign policy establishment somehow orchestrated the Russian invasion of Ukraine because Biden made them leave Afghanistan. This is definitely a coherent view of global affairs and not just conspiracy mongering.

Nobody in the foreign policy establishment (aka the “Blob”) loses their job over these failures — quite the contrary they get more funding — so nothing ever changes. We only had 6 blessed months of peace between Afghanistan and Ukraine, and that’s not an accident.
