Til now there were two opposing forces acting on San Francisco. It was both the center of the AI revolution, and had one of the most dysfunctional city governments in America. Now there's just the first.

I’ve been saying this for years, but it bears repeating. Anti-housing progs caused this change in the electorate by making housing so expensive that only tech can afford to move here. Now we’re the dominant voting bloc. And we’re voting pro tech, pro growth.

Isn't this also a huge win for ranked-choice voting? Data seems to suggest he was most people's second choice. Had SF had 'first past the post', it's like Breed would have won. Lurie seems moderate, not extreme. If only we had this at the national level, we could get rid of the

We usually underestimate how easy it is to improve things. Turkey was unable to lower inflation in 2022-23 because the government was against raising interest rates. A new minister of finance took office in 2023 and started raising rates. We started seeing results in six months.
