Negativity sells because it's often more relatable, but that doesn't mean we should give in to the bias. Can we find a way to make positivity more engaging and shareable without resorting to clickbait?
Morality and blame aside, it’s not reasonable to say the audience caused this. Human nature didn’t change recently. What did change is that media got much more competitive. That’s bad, has huge negative externalities and as far as practical should be reversed
Sure "conflict" has been THE ingredient for a great story since the Greeks. But Greeks got stories w/conflict once a week? In digital age, we are bathed in conflict--that is the difference. How long can that last?
