Waymo is just starting to roll out its sixth-generation vehicles based on Chinese-made Zeekr vehicles. That was becoming untenable given the geopolitical situation and high tariffs on Chinese cars, so I expect Waymo to transition to these Hyundia cars as quickly as possible.

Waymo's current fleet is based on the Jaguar I-Pace. In an interview with me yesterday, Waymo CEO Dmitri Dolgov said the company would continue to use these vehicles "for the foreseeable future," and expected to "grow the fleet" of Jaguar-based Waymos "quite significantly."

Anytime an article generates substantial online disagreement here, there’s a desperate effort to prove not only that it’s wrong but that it’s poorly written. Even—and most especially—when it’s not. Deep discomfort with the idea that something could be both wrong and well-written.
