Maybe you will not believe me but I am not worried about the movies “they” will be able to generate but about “them” as new species coming.
I predict this is going to spur a renaissance, but in the opposite direction of Hollywood slop. People will get sick of the cheap zero cost AI special effects and start demanding thoughtfully written movies with interesting, relatable characters.
what are film studios going to do when anyone can make a film and distribute online? What an incredible technology.
Seems like animation/cartoons are going to be straight up AI generated going forward, even down to the voices. Which is exciting because now anyone can create their own cartoon and essentially have their own animation studio
The difference in video models is impressive. That level of difference in Midjourney happened two years ago. Over the past two years it has gotten better and more capable of being "directed", but it was mostly creating perfect people at least 18 months ago.
One looks slightly better? If you’re pointing to this as evidence of rapid ai progress it doesn’t seem that great of an argument. I’d be more interested to know how long of clips they can generate while maintaining internal consistency, realistic physics, etc
AI is improving in photorealism quickly so that the problem of AI-aided identity theft can be properly created and astroturfed ahead of the years-in-the-making solution of 'gdp unlocking' privacy-erasing digital IDs by 2030.

I'm pretty sure Gen-3 was just released less than a month after that. comparing gen-2 to Kling 1.6 is quite stupid because gen-2 was released two years ago...
2-3 years we will be so far being AI we will believe we're seeing magic. That's how far behind the curve we are. And all of it for the time being will be in the hands of people who believe we are just consumers of the product but have very little control of the product
