I was playing cyberpunk last night in my Vision Pro (w/ DLSS5, which is insaaane) And I really kept wishing that the screen was 3D/volumetric
I don’t want it to be reshade depth map based, but rather a proper, geometry/double camera based rendering I think UEVR has something similar along those lines
There is a native stereo mod with two cameras working properly. It wouldn't take much to port that 6DOF portal made for UEVR to play it in a similar way
> It wouldn't take much to port that 6DOF portal made for UEVR to play it in a similar way im gonna look into vibecoding this
Holy shit IT WORKS!! One shotted with GPT6 Astra I now have a fork of UEVR where I can play any UE game within a volumetric window! This actually renders the game in 3D - meaning, two real game cameras, not some depth map bullshit. Everything looks right This is an alternative (and more comfortable IMO) way to play most 2D->VR hacked games as there’s no motion sickness, and no need to redesign the UI and interaction systems Needs a lot more polish before I publish it but OMG IT WORKS!
The media could not be played.

You should be able to do this with stereo render targets in Unity polyspatial, quite easily! I agree though it’s an under explored modality I really want to see.
Is the streaming client using SpatialSDK or Unity? Or is it a dedicated Unreal client with UEVR? This is incredible if it’s spatialSDK so you can have a browser with YouTube or other apps can run in parallel. Still amazing to see depth via headpose!
This is exactly the format I’ve been waiting to see for years! With few exceptions, this is absolutely how all 3D games should be played.
That is AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to try it out! For so many games that would not work well as a VR conversion, this is at least how I would want to play most of my flat games in VR!
this is basically all I wanted from steam frame which isnt even for sure coming now so wow yes please share!
What would it take to go a step further and just immerse completely into the scene so it's surrounding you instead of just on a screen? This is incredible though, great job.
Next we need 3d immersion hybrid. You should be able to step into the window for 180-360° view depending on immersion setting. Maintain 3rd person view/control, but there should be another camera degree of freedom, linked to the game’s default camera like a steady cam, but you
Is there a way to use the game cameras as the vr cameras and have convert any flat game into an immersive version? Without having to jailbreak the game of course
Damn, this is amazing! I do wonder if it’s less power demanding too? Since it mostly renders lower FOV?
It turned out really well. There's just one extra thing I'd like: the ability to darken the see-through view to make it more immersive.
Man the interaction looks "just right"! This could be absolutely awesome for 3d-isometric games like Civilization as well. OR it will make you seasick... We don't know until we've tried 🤩
