California has the nationโ€™s highest housing costs. Some blame a housing shortage; others, government policies. We sit down with experts to explore whatโ€™s driving costs and discuss the state-mandated Housing Development initiative and why some cities push back.

Why Housing Costs Are Still Through the Roof in California

I mean this with all seriousness: Is there a *single* thing the California government does that is above the US state average. I mean, theyโ€™ve barely even counted half their votes yet, something Brazil can do in hours! WTF to California taxpayers even get for their money!?
Morocco is an oil rich country with a hybrid government thats essentially still ruled by a King, so these kinds of projects are quickly implemented. Its not like its a country in the midst of war or conflict like its neighbors

I lived in California for a decade while working in Yosemite. You had to take a bus to a train to a bus to a train to go from SF to LA. In 2020. I was then preached to about the merits over decades of their system. First time Red voter, for reasons like this.
My wife was working on the California high speed rail and moved to the UK in 2012 to instead work on HS2. Building in California was/is a total shit show.
They are still counting votes. If they can not figure that out they arenโ€™t building a high speed train. Plus they lost Elon.
Whatโ€™s new or surprising?

Literally fire every person involved in this project. Every. Single. One. Except they were probably elected. So they only cared about the headline of STARTING the projectโ€ฆ not the accountability to finish.
The deal Trump should offer California is, give Trump full power to ignore ALL regulations and in exchange, Trump finishes the high speed rail quickly. Good for voters of California, good for America
