For reference, this is equal to the cost of the Intuit Dome, the Clippers' new stadium in Los Angeles.

Most Liberals think the BLM Riots resulted in less than $10 million dollars in property damage.
Reality: The BLM Riots resulted in around $2 billion dollars in property damage.
I have great affection for California, it used to epitomize the American dream. Sadly, the Golden State, in particular the Bay Area, has become exhibit A of what transpires when the Left runs things. More in #FarMiddle ep. 155.
and it's certainly an undercount since there's no way to track uninsured expenses. i know multiple people in LA who had their tiny, uninsured stores destroyed by rioters. i guess they didn't like black owned bicycle shops.
My cake store in Emeryville, CA had about $200k of damage alone. And I'm one store of 20 in a shopping center that got completely looted/run over by "protesters"
(Understanding that there are legitimate protesters - just not these ones)
I donโt think many people appreciate how the acceptance and lack of consequences from the BLM riots led to the capital riot. It was mentioned, but people on the left just effortlessly hand-waved it as โnot the same thingโ because of course their riots are justified.

For a different kind of reference, Beryl, the fourth-costliest hurricane of the 2024 season, did $8 billion in damage. Debby did $12 billion, Milton did $85 billion, and Helene did $114 billion.
I'd be skeptical here. The source linked on the chart is just this WEF article which includes the disclaimer "The views expressed in this article are those of the author alone and not the World Economic Forum.", and includes no citations or data.
Add in fentanyl challenges and cities like Portland have a bigger hill to climb to get back to normal
Our politicians are acting like we're on the right track, but we're don't have the facilities to help the addicts
We can't let anyone think the urban crisis is ok
