Guess the question is how much can you delink technological and social changes. Like if one could recreate the Edwardian era social structure with modern medicine and production surplus what would it look like?
I had someone once say to me, we work more now, than we ever did in history.
I reminded them that hunting and gathering was a 24 hour gig.
A century ago the year was 1925. The interwar years of the 1920s & 30s saw the rise of fascism/Nazism & multiple attempts at communist revolutions throughout Europe. Very unstable era & not one that I'd want to live in.
Only a moron would want the world of a century ago. But aspects of the 1990s do seem appealing.
