This was covered in depth Darknet Diaries podcast "I'm the real Conner". They would create a fake LinkedIn/Github pretending to be another person. Then hire (or try to hire) someone to pretend to be that person in interviews.
Companies outsourcing jobs to save money only to hire hackers and NK spies, jobs in the West are here to stay lmao
Google got rid of a lot of American engineers under the guise of “return to the office” and hired remote international engineers for lower salaries. This is their karma 🤷🏾‍♀️

this was revealed in the crypto space a long time ago lol DPRK agents have been the reason for multiple “hacks” though it’s really just basic infiltration.
Cinder flagged this over the summer - “By demonstrating sufficient technical capability and minimal English language skills, North Korean applicants can meet minimum thresholds for junior software engineer roles. Fast-growing start-ups eager to ship more products might overlook

Managers and C-suite execs are going to see this and be like see, we need to have everyone back in the office for security reason, omitting the fine details about "declining Zoom meetings"
I have to be a citizen, but companies hire background check companies that are foreign employees on US VDIs. Also, the off shore recruiters for US security jobs...
I'm just here wondering how they passed their background checks. Did they decline that, or did the companies hiring them fail to run background checks on their new hires? Background checks are a must in risk management and mitigations
Russians tried this in the 00s various times, mostly with engine programmer roles but were rumbled due to comparing the code they submitted as part of the hiring process and other malicious code. The devs could tell it was the same person and checked into the background etc
The thing people aren’t understanding about this is how elaborate of a scheme this requires, there’s so many people in the comments questioning how this is happening and investigating the issue will explain everything.
Speaks volume about the hiring side of things than the employees themselves!
I can see that happening, especially with the push to 'lower costs' even at the loss of quality.
“We took this very seriously and we set up this entire interview on that phone. That phone cannot be tracked… Privacy and security is always a concern these days…” –Shawn Ryan in his interview with Commander Ahmad Massoud. Discover how UP Phone provides security & privacy.
I said it many times before. Main reason to go back to office is security, first and foremost. Trust, validation in person.
Recalls American ingenuity in the 19 century in penetrating British textile industry, stealing its advanced tech blueprints and the rest became history.. nothing stimulates creativity like sanctions, blockades, barriers etc. Way to go Kim ..!
In the midst of the job market being so fucking horrendous for Americans, this is all around embarrassing and aggravating smfh
Date, you know this is BS. If anybody cares they would ask for their cameras to be turned on or require quarterly onsite meetings. This is propaganda created by real estate owners to force people back on the office
That’s wtf yall get. Y’all laying off everybody who actually American for cheap Indian/korean work
This embarrassing now if they was hiring black ppl this wouldn’t have happened 😂 Least they’ll know were not spies
Anything and everything to not train and hire black and brown Americans. Corporations rather hire North Korean spies than struggling Americans. Half of the companies knew they were spies but didn't give a fk because they were cheap and did some work.

My doctor, a board certified neurologist with over 20 years of experience believes I need an MRI. But Frank, from Blue Cross Blue Shield, believes otherwise. What a joke.
I ran into one of my students at the grocery store with some wine in my cart and he said “that’s because of us isn’t it?”
I don’t think the national media is grasping the level of devastation in FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, and VA. Whole towns have been washed away. Asheville is cut off from the outside world. 1.3 million people in SC are still without power. It’s really bad.
i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks. daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.
