Pacific Palisades is unrecognizable. Homes, businesses—everything gone, while a mall stands untouched. Nature doesn’t discriminate, but recovery will. My heart breaks for those waking up to nothing. 
This is terrible. The stories of low to no water levels in the fire hydrant reservoirs is horrible and inexcusable.
This is a nightmare. I grew up in Pacific Palisades and I can’t even recognize what street this is
Here’s a picture I took of that location in 2016. I live right across the street. I’m pretty sure the apartments I lived in are burned down

It's heartbreaking to see such loss. Communities are resilient, though, and will rebuild. This event highlights the need for better disaster preparedness and urban planning.
Downtown Pacific Palisades wasn't very big, but it was busy -- two supermarkets, drugstore, restaurants, shops, schools -- all gone now.
Total destruction. Partly due to the uncontrollable Santa Ana winds but, firefighters shouldn't have been running out of water and these canyons and forests should be cleared of dead brush, not protected. This is what happens
