It's now clear that the Hyundai immigration raid was an operational mistake. A big reason why this mistake happened is because the agents who raided this plant (Homeland Security Investigations) have no experience in worksite enforcement. They previously worked on high priority counter-terrorism and child sex trafficking cases, but were reassigned to work on these low priority enforcement cases to help boost the administration's deportation numbers. Because these agents did not know what they were doing, they arrested hundreds of Koreans who were legally authorized to help install equipment at the Hyundai plant in what became the largest raid in U.S. history. Meanwhile, cases involving terror threat investigations, child trafficking, and other transnational crimes are being deprioritized. reuters.com/world/us/thous

Which makes it even worse they came in with a production team to record it all so they could promote it. What the hell is going on. I was told the adults were finally back in charge.
Stephen Miller's demand for higher arrests has led to this, and a smart admin would fire and blacklist him for causing one of the more serious international incidents with an allied nation in recent memory.
the agents weren't "reassigned to work on these low priority enforcement cases", the administration has re-prioritized, to make counter-productive, illegal raids on legal immigrants its highest priority.
Someday competence will be valued over ideology again by voters. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, but actually not very likely.
Making the country less safe by ignoring real crimes to focus on a clumsy PR stunt that turned into an international incident that came with serious economic consequences. Seems like the perfect example of Trump’s governing philosophy.
Maybe we can stop treating the people we round up like they are subhuman, so when we get it wrong, we aren't compounding the problem.
This was not a little misunderstanding. This was a brutal assault. Terminations are appropriate.
You mean there was a Failure of Leadership from anyone in charge of this Mass Arrest? Nobody could've known? No Senior ICE official, manager, experienced anyone could have put common sense to this situation? Instead you're blaming this on, "Well they were new?"
Awful take that defies reality. The agents were ordered to do a job and they did it, that's what they do. The notion that they didn't know what they were doing is absurd, um because that's their job. This was essentially a White hit job, sends a very clear message
