The shooting is awful, but not unprecedented. Political assassinations have long been with us. It’s how the internet has made so many of us comfortable cheering on assassinations, and demanding more of them, that fills me with existential dread.

I wish I hadn’t seen it. I’ve encouraged others to just skip it… nobody needs to see that voluntarily. It’s horrid what a human can do to another human, once they stop considering their opponents as human.
