Fact check: The UN Charter was signed in 1945 - four years before Mao established the People's Republic of China. The "China" that signed the UN Charter in 1945 is the Republic of China government that is now the government of Taiwan.

Interestingly It was a mixed delegation (led by TV Soong) representing the ROC. There was a Communist Party representative, Dong Biwu, in San Francisco who was invited along after American urging to CKS (see Stettinius to FDR)

Of course they are more than happy to adopt others' facts for their own benefit... e.g., using Taiwan to claim progress on protections for same-sex marriage/LGBT rights.

Local lawmakers in #Taiwan, China, have legalized same-sex marriage in a first for Asia, according to local media reports.

And again PRC and RoC aren't two distinct countries but two different political entities of the same country. PRC is the successer of RoC just as it was a successer of Qing Dynasty. Just because in Germany a different party governs, not everything before it is just gone or a

Kinda! But more complicated really. 董必武 attended for instance. & US half-believed in some kind of mediation & hedged a bit. A few years later no more of course, but in 1945 less clear. Here’s a fun photo from 1944, with the US Ambassador, Ho Ying-chin & well..

If he just quotes the guy, without further context, this journalist can pretend he is not promoting what the CCP is saying. Do they think most of us are stupid?
Another person name Wellington Koo signed the charter. According to the current US State Dept Treaty lists, the Atlantic Charter and the United Nations Declaration are pre-1949 treaties applicable only to Taiwan.
So when a country changes its government to a different one than signed the UN charter it is no longer a member of the UN according to your logic. The UN overwhelmingly voted that the seat for the country named China should be held by the government of mainland China.
The government that signed the UN charter in 1945 was the government represent China no matter what they called themself. The legitimate government of China is now PRC.
Ah the UN. The most useless organization in the world. The rules from the UN are a lot like the Bible Koran etc. people pick and choose what to believe out of it but it’s all imaginary.
Similarly the USSR is no more. Neither ruZZia nor the PRC have legitimate claims to the UN Security Council seats. The USSR chair should be vacant. The RoC (aka Taiwan) should have retained its seat.
I think you get the facts wrong-the UN charter was signed the RoC in 1945 but it lost the civil war and power struggle between two rival forces. However the Nationalists lost and fled to Taiwan, the new gov by PRC took over the sovereignty of China as recognised by most countries
Mr. Horton, I believe you are the only person understands the modern history and speak with truth. The 1945 UN Charter founding member, the Republic of China still standing strong on the island of Taiwan today. The world has two China(s).
The PRC is always taking credit for ROC's achievements.. like how they claimed they defeated the Japanese
Fact check: The UN Charter was signed in 1945, 75 years before Biden governed the United States of America. The 'America' that signed the UN Charter in 1945 was the Truman government, which has since passed away.
The PRC replaced the ROC and inherited the legal position of the United Nations! Is there a problem with this?
Correct. In old terms Taiwan was known as Taiwan, Republic of China ( Taiwan ROC ) , and that had nothing to do with TsiNa, today’s Zhong Guo 🤮
hahahaha .. thanks Genius. Now explain how China got to be the permanenet member of the UN without the acceptance of US/UK/Russia and others as the actual China???😆😂
中国人在哪里中国就在哪里,现在大部分中国人在中国大陆,所以中华人民共和国代表了中国
Maybe you shan accept or take anything from your Mum & Dad? Your Dad passed away does not mean your family wealth is gone. In the case of China, a change of government does not change China, China is still China. You are still you if you decide to change your name
You can't stay at 2 sides, since Taiwan doesn't recognize It's part of China, then you're out of this topcs. By the way, a lot of people seem don't understand one country, two regimes
Fact check: History lesson failed! PRC is China's rightful government! ROC lost, Taiwan's status disputed! UN has recognized PRC since '71! Get with the times! You are so bitter get a grip 🤣
Wrong logic. For example, is the Nazi Germany the same country as Today's Germany? In fact, the answer is. The only change is the government from Hitler to a new government.
Fact Check. If Trump wins this Nov the USA will no longer be a member of the UN until another Democrat is elected president!! Rules are rules ... Right?
No you are wrong! That China in 1945 was the China claimed they represented the whole China included mainland. There is always one China. Do some homework.
Fun fact. If china left and taiwan took china's place at the UN. It would make the security council meaningless and china can ignore all future UN resolutions including from the security council
No wonder you're so fxxked up with this, if you don't even known the principle of succession. Also the west through the UN has given that right to PRC China by kicking out the ROC China in the 1970s. Perhaps you should address to them instead of sprouting out nonsense.
