Star Trek and Star Wars should be switched. Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the future is Intelligence Rich.
Why is Star Wars more intelligent than Star Trek? How is war intelligent? What lacks intelligence in Star Trek?
Star Wars has human-level droids fixing ships, translating languages, fighting wars, and doing admin work in basically every spaceport. Star Trek encounters one unusually competent hologram and reacts like the universe has just violated a theorem.

But one small quibble: wasn’t the whole reveal in Matrix that the society was actually energy poor? Hence the enslaved energy-providing humans.

Mentats. You can't discriminate against them just because they are human. They certainly push the intelligence scale above The Expanse, and probably Star Trek (though that may depend on your view of Vulcans).
I’m just read Nexus ad currently reading Nexus 2, not sure where they would sit? No space travel but advanced cybernetics and it doesn’t make much reference to energy.
Star Wars is a fantasy story set in space without a single drop of science or reason. Whatever happens in that galaxy makes absolutely no sense. Apparently robots are cheap, but slavery is still practiced... Yet, the movies itself show that robots can work. What a joke.

The Expanse has people whizzing around the solar systems in ships using Petawatts of fusion engine power. That is truly incredible energy abundance - and one of biggest world building holes when they are messing around with solar farming and struggling with lack of food etc for
Obviously, gets it wrong on the Star Wars - Stat Trek axis. But that's probably a libertarian vs technocrat preference.

I'm curious, why is The Expanse so low on intelligence? I'd also argue The Expanse is only a bit behind Star Trek in terms of energy too, or maybe about 100 or so years behind Star Trek on energy.
I also pasted it to Gemini, which took issue with some of the placements, particularly ST and SW. Btw, did you plot them yourself, or ask an ai to do so? If the latter, which ai? Either way I don’t care, but doing this was brilliant. Such a good discussion starter.

Which civilization by the Enterprise crew do you feel was the most intelligent and energy rich one encountered? How about the poorest? Give us the far ends on the spectrum of those encountered. And, of the more abundant intelligence/energy one, does it surpass Star Wars levels?
I pasted the graphic to ChatGPT. It strongly disagreed with the intelligence plot point for Star Trek.
Foundation was too hard to read. I fell asleep during The Matrix. I quit Mad Max. My ignorance is complete. But I know there is a very deep meaning behind anything AlexWG says! The future is bright!
