🇨🇳🇹🇼 China has begun preparations for its invasion of Taiwan. That’s why Beijing has already sent its first “volunteers” to Ukraine—deployed on the Pokrovsk front in Donbas. These are Chinese soldiers, disguised as volunteers, gaining combat experience in real war conditions. This is a clear signal: China is testing its troops in preparation for war with Taiwan. Yet, the Trump administration remains silent, despite having every reason to at least threaten sanctions. The worst part of China’s war against Taiwan is that it will give Xi Jinping a free hand to openly supply Russia with heavy weapons for its war against Ukraine. Before Trump’s presidency, the idea of Chinese troops in Ukraine seemed absurd. Now, they are on the battlefield, killing Ukrainians. When China invades Taiwan, it will officially declare itself a superpower that does whatever it wants. And after that, Russia will receive as many weapons and drones as Beijing sees fit. The Trump administration should have responded immediately, at the very least with sanctions or diplomatic pressure. In similar cases, the U.S. imposed sanctions on Russian mercenaries in Africa and banned military tech exports to China. The National Security Act and U.S. deterrence policies demand a response—because silence only emboldens Beijing.
