Now money is needed for the Master. Getting rid of aid can go towards the Master's kitty! If taking away from citizens is done without hesitation what about others!
As long he is now on the right side of history is all I care about. People make mistakes. Smart and honest people self-correct.
Was that before the DOGE audit exposed all the crap - *checks notes…* - yes, yes it was. Are you defending Govt waste and corruption?
Yeah, that letter was written before USAID was exposed as a giant taxpayer funded fee state slush fund. That info changes everything.
You should watch his interview with Megan Kelly, he like so many people have had their eyes opened by what has taken place over the last few years.
Uhhh....That's what it was for....not the crap we just found out about.
Rubio’s position is and has been USAID needs to be aligned with State Department priorities. Do you think they have been? Senator Joni Ernst faced a confrontation with USAID when she began her inquiries into the agency’s financial practices. USAID won that battle. Do you think

I do not believe that essential U.S. Aid for worthy causes in other countries will totally dry up. We are in the early stages of examining how those monies are being spent (and misspent). There are plenty of non-profits operating around the world.
Did Rubio know the extent of corruption at the agency? If not, another nothing-burger. If so, where’s the beef? While we’re at it, are you, or have you ever received money from a government agency other than unemployment or a tax refund?
Its called play the game. 3 years ago it was a vessel to combat that agenda. Today, not so much, especially if the State dept can consume the working aspects of USAID and rid of the bloat.
At the time, Marco probably assumed it was a legit entity. Funny what a little investigation on it produced.
Bro believe it or not, it is ok for people, in any regard, to learn more about something and then change their mind on how they feel about it. In fact this is healthy. Because knowledge is power. I hope this helps.
I don't understand your point? Was this before we all found out how much fraud there was, or after?
If they pulled back all the frivolous, taxpayer monies they’re spending they wouldn’t have to increase the budget.
Well, what's being revealed now very few knew about it. Especially those on the right side of the aisle.
I'll take it. He was pretty ethically and morally questionable, a new con, but his latest rhetoric is suggesting he's shifted. Hopefully he really did.
Marco Rubio as a member of the foreign relations committee was unable to get records or anything from USAID. They just blocked him. So since that time he learned. And this is what democrats do not do. They never learn.
Can’t his original statement be correct given what he knew at the time and yesterday’s statement also be true given what he knows now? I know I’ve learned more about certain things since 2019. Have you learned anything in 5 years?
