Before 2017, we produced zero rare earths, metals, or magnets in the U.S. Over the last four years, we built a domestic supply chain brick by brick, to secure against this exact scenario. Trump and Elon have since gutted most of the offices responsible for this work.

Trump and Elon have gutted the companies and supply chain efforts directly. Many of us close to the clean tech supply chain are getting frantic calls from many companies impacted… It’s a nightmarish trifecta: 1. Pushing to gut the IRA 2. Ripping up signed govt grants/loans 3.
What part of destroying new mines domestically through environmental protection laws helped that effort? How did you secure a domestic supply chain while shuttering and shutting down all production?
last I read the USA produced rare earths until china came on the scene and took that market due to government regulations here
The owner of the company said regulators were the biggest obstacle to getting going. Democrats have spent decades making it almost impossible for the free market to open mines.
