This article came out last month.
It basically lays out the history of Iran mining bitcoin.

there's no evidence yet of a significant hash rate drop

many wondering if iranian btc mining sites were hit
but hashrate is not a "metric" calculated by the network; it's extrapolated via block times & difficulty
we can't yet declare a meaningful hashrate drop. the daily drop can simply be variance. need more time & moving avgs x.com/UnderCoercion/…
Block time just increased significantly. It added 3 minutes. Blocks have been 13 minutes on average since the strike.
There is definitely significant evidence of a major hash rate drop.
Did we just blow up a major bitcoin mining operation under the guise of it being nuclear because Bitcoin is the new oil???

One Iranian miner we talked to claimed 2GW of mining in the region
It’s an exaggeration but notable
Would also vote for the heatwave in US. Foundry USA pool hashrate % went down to ~25% in last few days.
would love your thoughts on this via quote tweet or quick recap video
they've shut them down to preserver power to the grid to support weapons and defense power requirements. standard ops, and a key feature of state-level mining.
Not necessarily in the mountains, they are one of the top 10 global miners, using BTC to bypass sanctions. Their power grid has been in disarray which is the likely cause. I wrote up a conspiracy theory on my profile about how Iran ties into the market which so far is holding up.
This is not cute. Proof-of-work systems only do this when they are EXTREMELY DISTRESSED
I think the hashrate dip is more likely due to the US heat wave.

A more credible theory than "they were doing it on their state nuclear facility" - but still it is too early to infer much. Drops like this are common, and often relate to ERCOT curtailment.
Give it a few days, then we can start to infer
On June 15th, Israel reportedly "disabled" (probably one of) Iran's NUCLEAR Bitcoin mining facility in Tehran producing ~90btc/day.
Don’t know what enrichment looks like from a power demand perspective, but if you have a variable load, bitcoin mining can be a great way to offset the swings.
See a lot of people are catching up to this

Once Iran sells their BTC that price gonna pump like mad so they cant spend their BTC right?
With Brave, you can stream from your favorite sites (like YouTube) with better mobile controls, less popup clutter, and fewer distractions.
Heatwave in US might also be contributing to the drop
This is the future of war. Destroy the nation state miners to cripple their ability to create wealth.
I've been posting on this story all morning! did the original post by saying, the drop in hash rate coincided with the bombing of the Iranian Nuke site! Ok, there has been a direct deduction in hash rate. I don't believe in coincidence. So there must be a connection.
What if Fordow was never about the Uranium but rather about the BTC? Will future wars be targeting major BTC mining ops as a means of disruption? Woah...

Gonna enjoy a week of better rewards but this is my last month mining. Just can't make anything on it anymore without access to almost-free energy
In time it’ll become obvious that Iran’s ASIC Mining program was as strategically important as their Nuclear program.
It's not controversial, they have been mining for a very long time.. early bitcoiners.
Why do they not say it was because of Bitcoin?
Psst.. You are not allowed to talk about it

Scalar radar showed it as well. That's why trump wanted all the bitcoins.
Totally makes sense now.
Could be nation(s) moving their hardware too for fear of it being destroyed
Tesla Powerwall helps you rely less on the utility grid and more on clean, renewable energy. Say goodbye to rising rates—and hello to total energy control.
More important, they did not mine at since their hashrate gone up.
So a good thing to MDMGA

Interesting.. wouldn’t doubt it the way $BTC sold off. Us regular folks don’t know anything. The truth is always hidden. We are no different then China with the Chaos
I don't know what to believe anymore but shared this thought recently.

If people don't stop posting about how much bitcoin they have, there will come a time where people will make people or nations disappear just to make the price go up due to loss of "seed phrase." Stop posting about how much of anything you have.
