Web search is rolling out today in feature preview in the US across all paid plans.
Just toggle it on in the Feature preview section of settings:
We're rolling out support for users on our free plan and expanding web search to more countries soon:
With ChatDOC, reading becomes simple! From research paper to financial reports, ask AI anything about your files, get instant answers with cited sources. Dive into documents with ease, grasp the gist, and enjoy seamless translations!
I can't wait to show Claude so many beautiful things and see how he reacts
yeah see this is how you implement search properly, instead of just searching once in the beginning of the query this agentic type search will work great for my tasks! Thanks
Can we please have a personalization setting where I can tell Claude to stop commenting in code? It’s literally the best for coding but it wastes so much time and it’s very frustrating. If you tell him not to do it, he will literally turn around and do it again. This becomes a
Someone already made a MCP that brings live data to Claude. But this is a nice update.

Yet, it runs out of context window with a pdf of 40 pages. I'm very happy about the serious upgrade but guys, 40 pages is nothing. It shouldn't be a problem.

Looks like it's hallucinating though. I asked it "Rust crate to access Postgres with Arrow support" and it made up an arrow-postgres crate. It even gave sample Rust code using this fictional crate!
I can recommend a Rust crate for accessing PostgreSQL with Arrow support.
The
Wow. So its Claude vs Perplexity vs Open AI.
As usual, super bullish on Claude
Especially given this context, Claude is in a great position to build outstanding deep research abilities
Any hints on when we’ll get it in the UK? Claude seems excited to not just take my word for new theorems
Being able to check the facts directly makes Claude even more reliable and useful
I just tried to search for a website, to be specific, my portfolio website - it said it wasn't able to access it directly but could only try to look up information on the website. It didn't find any but I was hoping web search meant that it could work like an agent/operator to
An important addendum that could have been added to this update.
Do you see this as a threat, given many users were doing web search using perplexity but putting the data in Claude for analysis?
Could they now circumvent ?
Soooo much needed , only half an hour ago I was wishing for it. Thaaaaaaaanksssss
Finally! Web access & search will be a huge leap. are you guys actually planning a git interface so I can provide a github and ask questions about the repo?
Now we talkin, I believe in few months claude is gonna crush every LLMs in market.
Slow progress yet great product launch.
Surprisingly, no details yet on how it works under the hood, whether a DuckDuckGo partnership or Anthropic's own index. Will it be available on the Anthropic API?
So cool. This was one of the biggest gaps vs. ChatGPT. Feels like more capabilities are getting unlocked every day :)
Expanding LLM capabilities with real-time web search is a game changer—but it also raises key questions on reliability, bias, and citation quality. How does ensure source accuracy and prevent misinformation amplification? Looking forward to testing this out.
Web search really enhances the level of accuracy and the depth of the repsonses. Options are always welcome
That’s a solid upgrade! Web search with citations makes it easier to fact-check and trust responses.
Excited to see how it improves research and accuracy with #OnchainIP!
Just found out this morning. Still have to try it.
I also like the redesign of the input attachment section.
This is cool, already love Claude for the quality of its output. With web search, it'd be even more effective
Interesting how it's work inside. Maybe building some graph of the search prompt. And next analize the content from the page?
Sadly I’ve recently cancelled my subscription and moved to Grok, mostly because of lack of good web search in Claude
Good release though!
At last! What a huge leap forward. Will there also be deep research coming soon?
What search engine powers Anthropic search the web feature, I just need name
Incredible tool!
Can’t wait to see how creators will play around with this feature.
This is huge for updated responses. Previously, the model had lag of updated information by several months.
The shoutout is bananas, they really know this is primarily a dev tool to a dev audience.
Nice! Would love to see citations evolve a further
