My bus driver was texting on two (!!) phones at the same time for most of the ride to NYC. An eye-tracking system would've probably helped. Interesting case study of the barriers to AI adoption. Some thoughts + vid below. Thanks for writing!

Took a bus to NYC this weekend - the driver was simultaneously texting on two (!!) phones while on a call. Very impressive! But not sure it was the safest way to drive a bus for 5 hours. AI tools like driver-facing cameras would promote safety + lower costs, but unions fear x.com/jordanmcgillis…

It's hard to argue against technology that improves safety, productivity, and saves lives but similar technology has been around for years - though AI probably improves results at the margin.
I just read about actigraphy devices from the 1990s doing exactly that same thing Why are you peddling that marketing-gimmick "artificial intelligence" and trying to convince other people that your computer can think like a real person?
