Forssmann won a ‘56 Nobel for shoving a catheter up his arm til it reached his heart. Marshall won an ‘05 Nobel for showing ulcers were bacterial by chugging a bacteria cocktail. We should be thankful for smart people that are willing to risk it all for the rest of us dummies.

Wait the bacterial ulcer guy did that in 2005? I'd heard that anecdote but I thought it was from the 40s or something. Holy Hell.
Whoever the first person was that came up with the idea of IV fluids, inserting a needle into a vein and pumping in what was probably water at the time, has saved likely hundreds of millions of lives, maybe more
