If you want to beat the MAGA movement you need politicians who some Republicans like, that’s what it means to do well in elections.

Matt Yglesias is the kind of guy who reads a tweet about 3 dudes and think ‘Yup, this is probably a fair general representation’, and writes an op-ed about how to win an election.
I don't understand how progressives cannot carry over lessons from business/sales and their work lives. Maybe that's a difference with moderates: moderates are more likely to work in roles where persuasion and marshalling and consensus-building are important.
It’s very subjective too. They like Platner because they think he attracts Trump voters, but dislike Shapiro for the same thing.
Common sense. The idea that some successful people liking Josh Shapiro makes u dislike Shapiro is childish nonsense. A governor of a state is always likely to have successful associates. Not hard to figure out.
They just don't get it. They think political purity is the most important thing in the world and actually believe that moving far to the left is somehow going to win back voters that thought Joe fucking Biden and Kamala Harris were too far to the left.
They don’t care. They just want to pontificate in the safety of their deep blue cities and permanently bitch about how bad the rest of the country is.
If I didn't know any better I'd think that Democrats don't want to win.
Hey, big shocker, Republicans actually liked Bernie when he was running anti-establishment. Independents liked him too. They just didn’t vote in Dem primaries.
Yes the c suite crowd loved the last two Dem presidents immensely … oh wait
None of the winners in the recent state elections, dems of repubs, seem to have followed your strategy and advice!
Do you think people are logical and just choose the closest politician to their beliefs or do they look for other things like credibility, consistency, image, feeling
So should Dems have nominated Bernie Sanders in 2016 instead of HRC?
why do those republicans need to be the dad’s c-suite coworkers though?
They should be judging Shaprio on his policy record and current stances, his voting record and things he has done, good or bad, for the district he represents, not on who does or doesn't like him. This guy is literally outsourcing his thinking to other people
If trump's approval rating continues to drop, then so will GOP voter turnout in 2028, so I don't think it'll matter.
They hate Shapiro because some meaningful % of Republicans don't hate him.
Country club Republicans and Yglesicrats both like politicians who aspire to do very little. That’s why most Americans under 40 despise both
do we want to appeal to C-suite republicans or working class republicans?
I’m not sure how to envision Dems fixing this. I guess if an Obama like figure pops up. Otherwise they seem completely feckless
Harris lost because of global inflation, Biden caved in to the Left on weak borders, and being perceived too left wing.
DSA leftists want to emancipate criminals, abolish the border, and confiscate Nvidia.
They are freaks who push people away.
A “reform package” with no reforms in it — six empty platitudes and a grudge against the Left.
This is the inspiring moderate vision while the party sits at record-low approval: nothing better is possible!
You Zionists would support Adolf Hitler if it suited Israel. But lefties trying to correct some of these extremes in US politics is too much for you to handle.
This isn't necessarily true especially if Republicans don't like their nominee.
Should I believe countless human rights groups or some retard named Matt yglesias? Choice seems pretty easy
