we’re like half a step away from him mailing a ransom note made of cut up magazines to Kevin Warsh at this point

“The economy is doing well which is why interest rates should be lower” is among the many crank beliefs inherited from being a real estate developer in the 1980s and never reexamined

Trump thinks low interest rates are a treat you get for having a strong economy, and the stronger the economy the lower the rate should be.
Some banker 30 years ago told him he was a high risk credit and now he thinks that's the way global rates markets work
1: Does anyone really trust any numbers coming out of this administration today?
2: Trump is f'ing crazy.
Who is he threatening when he says, “Lower the rate or I’ll stop trading …”? Is he threatening the Fed? It makes no sense.
"Sabotage the economy or I'll sabotage the economy! And that's no idle threat!"
Do any of the countries with which we have a “deficit” supply computers and parts to the A.I. industry?
You mean like China and Taiwan? Why yes, yes we do
More People working mean higher interest rate to keep inflation down.
As usual Trump does not know what he is talking about or he think we are all stupid.
"So many upbeat takes on today’s jobs report. I’m a lot more skeptical...looks more like a school-calendar seasonal-adjustment wrinkle than a hiring wave. There are enough quirks in this report to stay cautious. And it’s still very hard to find a job." - Orphe Divounguy, economist lnkd.in/p/gNyDPYCa
i think he should try cutting off trade to a bunch of countries right before the midterms
GIF
So…wait….he’s threatening to stop trade and/or tariff countries….because his own Fed chair won’t lower interest rates? What?
Can someone invoke the 25th Amendment on him already? Dude is clearly demented and keeping him there is akin to elder abuse.
“Like the old days”?
Lets harken back to President Kennedy’s time in office when -For Married couples filing jointly, the 91% rate applied to taxable income over $400,000
Yeah, please,let’s go there..1960, soo long ago..😤
Fewer than 100,000 Americans had a net worth over $1 million in the late 1960s.
The U.S. added more than 441,000 new millionaires in 2025 alone, averaging over 1,200 new millionaires every day.
If only they paid their fair share of taxes..
But...can one really trust the numbers being hatched from this administration. 🤷♂️
I hate to be "that guy," but average job growth was 336k/month during the Biden years.
I'm not sure he wants to be bragging about getting it back "up" to 162k?
Why are we still tolerating this why wtf
No guardrails, no braking system whatsoever
No line too far
Why are any of us still even here?
We had a good run. Last one out shut the lights if the bill's even been paid
If the US Fed Board doesn't do what he wants, he's going to punish the entire world, including everyone in the US?! Fucking insane!
I'd be happy if he only sent a random note. I'm worried he's going to threaten to start launching nukes if he doesn't get his way.
Bladibladibla.......stop spending and your problem is over Donnie..... And so will be you debt driven growth.......
"Breaking all estimates (except mine!)" is a flashback to when trump was a good poster
Trump has made clear the flaws in the American system of Government.
The Presidency is too much power for a single individual to wield.
The Office should be divided into a Presidential Council, and agencies such as the Post Office and the DOJ should only be under the control of Congress.
Don’t be fooled by the recent August jobs report of 162k jobs.
Temporary- Restaurants and Bars: Added 59,000 jobs.
Local Government Education:(on the taxpayers nickel) Added 42,000 jobs.
Real Jobs = Manufacturing: Added 16,000 jobs, While Information Sector: Lost 23,000 jobs= Net -7k jobs lost.
He just can't accept that he's a raging moron and knows NOTHING about finance.
Trump really has no idea about how the Fed / interest rates/the economy work... does he? I am certainly no economist, however this post almost made me spew coffee out of my nose. 🙄😆
We should probably also wait until the revised job numbers come out. Seems like we’ve been experiencing a lot of downward revisions
Aside from being actually pitiful numbers, the last time the report was that high it was revised down to roughly a third of the announced number a few months later.
Also, how exactly is he going to stop trading with countries? That isn't a power he has
And Bessent and Lutnick and Hassett going on the TV to say, "Of course President Trump didn't send this note. This is ridiculous. Completely fake news";
shortly before Trump announces, "Yes, I sent the note. And I'll send another one if Kevin Wash-out doesn't take action immediately."
as with the last couple of decent reports, it will likely be revised down. even if it isn't, it's still not that great. this brings his monthly job average to about 15,000 per month this term. after recovering all jobs lost to covid and after 2 major downward revisions, Biden averaged 180k/mo.
Is he going to post an EXTORTION NOTE after the Midterms saying
he’s living in his BUNKER BALLROOM to continue to use the new COMMAND CENTER to DESTROY America
unless he gets his way with the results of the MIDTERM & PRESIDENTIAL Elections?
So jobs go up in the month that new and returning teachers go on the books
Who knew?
Has anybody even bothered to start with the red stapler-desk in the basement treatment or no
nothing, no got it
Lets just for one minute indulge this moron. Let's just assume he stops trading with mulitiple countries what does he think those countries will do? It's highly likely that they would reciprocate with American companies and product's, a child could forecast that.
Trump's blackmail attempt to get the Fed to lower interest rates has nothing to do with the economy, but more to do with Trump investments and debt service.
It's ALWAYS just about Trump and his gang of looters.
Trump, in his delirium, seems to be a big fan of the Obama administration, the "good old days" when the Federal Funds rate was more or less 0%.
