And most of them are MAGA Moron Spambots leaving harassing, racist, bigoted, or otherwise nonsensical replies on the posts of legitimate users.
Not really surprising. X makes it very easy to BOT. They have an API you can use to do it, and they monetize it. It's very easy for someone to set up a bot to just search for posts to leave one liners in, or to retweet things. To auto follow or follow back, etc.
It’s that high or higher on all major social media platforms.

Yes. It’s likely 1,000:1 ratio of bots to humans on this platform (perhaps even 10,000:1), and far, far greater elsewhere.
The internet is “dead,” and what that means is there are far more non-living entities participating here than living.
Since we are entering the Agentic

It’s pretty easy to see, honestly.
Nearly all of the engaging posts are from accounts built after in or after 2022. A LOT from 2024.
Please fix this! It might cost in the short term but will help the platform in the long run!
pretty ironic that Instagram has the lowest percentage of bots yet everybody ends up looking the same on there
This might explain why it's the same 100 accounts in the TL at all times. Verified Humans + Reach filter.
Where are they getting that stat from? The 2025 Bad Bot report doesn’t contain that info.
Tells you much as to why Eelon doesn’t want to get rid of the “verified” bots. $$$
why are there so many bots on this platform? 76% seems extremely high. What causes this, why is it allowed, and how do I know how many of my engagements and impressions are real?

I 100p believe this stat
So much of the algo is now bot junk
I truly do want this app to succeed and have vested financial interest in that
Just so ironic with EMs whole bot MO when he bought the co and then to watch it spiral downhill in the way it has is a shame
Well, at least I know that I’m not a bot! When I’m on X, I put out verifiable information (I don’t write anything I can’t back up), and willingly go toe to toe with any MAGAs who don’t like facts. It’s the only reason I’m on X.
I probably have 30 different elon bots following me. I remove them and they are right back.
And there's so much racist BS and dumbassery...what percentage of bots account for that
Absolutely crazy, but I can tell by all the same repetitive replies I get at times.
I don't know it to be true, but it feels true. It's almost as if social media is dead and being held together by clankers led by governments and corporations.
Bots get advertisers to spend due to engagement numbers
But they don't get any spend on advertiser products
This seems a lot like...what's the word I'm thinking of...oh yeah, fraud
Dude locked it down. No way Facebook and TikTok are at 2%. That’s absurd. This is the most biased study I have ever seen. TikTok is estimated to be up to 97% bots
Yeah, but in Musk’s defense, he needs the bots for all his fake polls and stock pumps.
Makes it even crazier that he’s got the bullying companies into advertising here and paying for fake traffic.
That means you only have about 62,088 "real" followers.
If that could be true, it's probably even less.
I’m a real boy who loathes pretty much everything you espouse but damn I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that you played an incredible gollum in the lord of the rings
That will be normal going forward. AI Bot will replace humans. Get use to

I now think there's more bots on here than genuine people.
Significantly more.
All you have to do is look at the first 10 or 20 comments under every MAGA influencer post to notice that.
This may have accelerated a little, but it’s felt like a higher than half percentage since I joined in 2017.
Yet, it still shapes the discourse that politics and journalism runs on (artificially).
I think it’s a pretty massive scandal, and some of our electeds likely knew.
It’s so clear

Yes 3 out of 4 times, ur responses come from bots and the other 25% is stuff that is sent to u to elicit a reaction
There is absolutely ZERO doubt in my mind when it comes to the accuracy of that stat.
Been like that for a long time now. I’d say around Trumps 1st election is win it really picked up.
I wonder if advertisers are aware of the artificial engagement. Bots don't buy products.
That seems to line up with my lived experience on this platform.
Usually at least 2-3 LLM responses in the first 10 on any post
I believe. Right or left, it's why I try to have real conversations with folks I interact with here. I recommend it. You wind up talking about simple stuff again, like fishing or music.
If you scroll through the comments on most posts this number doesn’t surprise you.
I had a feeling, as I’ve blocked 29,658 (most of them are from when Musk took over)
I can't imagine what the percentage was before the 2024 election, it seems more bot-free now.
In a way this is reassuring. I'd hate to believe that a lot of the accounts I see are real people.
I think that is why they think Maga is such a big following and its not..its bots
Save more every month with Powerwall. Store energy smartly and cut costs during peak utility pricing.
Bonkers, but believable. Not that Musk cares about the money, but why are there any advertisers on the site at all at this point?
I noticed that when I was getting likes from users with around 45 followers who supposedly joined Twitter/ X
5 years ago.
i get followed by a few a day. they are my only friends. dont take them from me!
Based on recent material, I'm surprised the percentage is so low.
That explains so much about this platform. I knew the number was high, but not that much.
I believe that. How many are crypto, sex, politics, or niche engagement farms, I dont know.
