"No need to ban gas: Just trust Silicon Valley + the magic of the market" sounds like a bad satire of a circa-2012 GMU blog. Like really? After 1000 years of refinement we'll suddenly improve stoves? Yet here we are, now wielding stove capabilities beyond human comprehension

Finally got myself an @ImpulseLabs induction cooktop. First order of business was dry sous vide-ing a steak. Super easy, and came out great!

It doesn't always work out like this lol. Quite often we need collective action mechanisms to transform market incentives and shape innovation But this time the libertarians won. Your children will view gas stoves the way we see iceboxes, we won't even need to regulate them
I bought & installed it without telling my wife. There has been some skepticism. We'll see if she comes along in a cpl of weeks. 🤞🏻
In fairness on the Odd Lots demo episode, Tracy was mad that Joe can now cook a perfect egg every time without practice. She prides herself on the effort needed to master that manually on gas There's a psychological adjustment to switching from a daily driver to a supercar
I have an induction stove and it thermal throttles when I fry anything on it. Maybe it's just a cheap stove, but a cheap gas stove lets me cook!
You should consider trying the greatest stove humanity has ever conceived, noted in OP, instead of using a random bad stove
Also, I am very dubious of the claims of indoor air quality issues with natural gas/propane. Yes, kerosene burning indoors would be bad. But natural gas/propane is very clean burning.
This is prolly excessive but induction cookers are so fucking infinitely goated it's not even funny. What do you mean I can just wipe off the surface if I get a spill, what do you mean I can just take shit off and go away
Using a 10kW mini nuclear reactor to sous vide - sous vide! - a steak is pure culinary absurdity. 🤣 But hey…this is what abundance looks like…better to have it as an option than not have it…🙌
Trying to put this stove in my remodel, the designer complains it will have bad resale. It’s still early
Why you need to lay out $7000 for a stove? There is no domestic 400V triphase? Here you can get a Bosch PerfectFry stove for €450.

Skål! Ari Aster's 171-minute Director's Cut of Midsommar is now in the shop. Includes disc in a clothbound, Hårga-yellow slipcase, an illustrated 62-page booklet featuring original artworks from the film by Ragnar Persson and a foreword by Martin Scorsese.
The media could not be played.
We arguably did the same thing on climate change, and while things could be better, I don’t think anyone thought the Texas grid would be hitting 50% clean energy in 2026.
And it’ll be prohibitively expensive to prop up valuations until China actually decides to manufacture it and then the government and media talking heads will suddenly start obsessing over the “security concerns” of stoves and ban them American tech, everyone
For developing the technology sure but government policy is great for accelerating this transition. The faster the better if we want fewer kids with asthma!
