This Forbes investigation is a must-read. Donald Trump pulled in roughly $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, plus more than $200 million from real estate, and faced a projected tax bill north of $500 million. So his company donated the "development rights" to his Jupiter, Florida golf course to a land trust, argued the course was a natural habitat worth protecting, and kept right on running the club. Forbes estimates the write-off could land around $825 million. He has done this at least five times since 2005. New York's attorney general alleged two of those appraisals were inflated. In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort. A month after the Jupiter deal, he sued the IRS. The settlement his own Justice Department signed bars claims against him over matters that "could be pending," language that appears broad enough to cover this year's taxes. A federal judge found the case was brought to manipulate the judicial process. And the man now running the IRS, who took the job as this deal was being assembled, has a home backing onto those same Jupiter fairways. This is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should be able to use the presidency to write his own tax bill.

The collusive and fraudulent settlement of Trump’s suit against the IRS is one of the greatest frauds perpetrated on the American public. Blanche signed the release granting Trump, his two sons, and virtually all of the Trump businesses sweeping and unprecedented audit, tax, and

A president who evaded the draft and paying taxes - it’s always been about greed and himself and NEVER about country.
Sounds like he’s been getting away with this long before he was POTUS. If it was legal then why wouldn’t he keep doing it? If it wasn’t allowed then why didn’t anyone do something about it over the last 20+ years?
That's sweet. Curious, do you think him and Melania sit at the kitchen table and fill out a 1040? Or is it more likely he has tax accountants and signs as he walks between holes? It's the latter.
that forbes piece basically confirms what everyone on CT already knew, the grift is the product and the tax play is the real roadmap.
Orange felon’s golf club is a natural habitat? But not America’s National Parks? That are being sold to the highest bidders to destroy!
How the hell can he claim that a golf resort is a "natural habitat?" The grass is always mowed, there's no trees, and old men are stomping around everywhere. I hate the stupid lies rich people get away with.
Our tax policies cater for the wealthy. I had to cash out my vacation or lose it. Out of $8,000 vacation I had earned I received a little over $3500, the rest went to paying taxes. I’m sick of tax loopholes for the rich.
“In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort” WHEN did he buy Doral is pretty relevant here. Not to mention the renovations.

Hell of a note to have a full fledged criminal sitting in the White House. How is this legal? Supreme Court apparently wants a tyrannical government with a dictator. This isn't democracy.
It’s so exhausting. I hope someone is keeping a list of all of the corruption and fraud committed by this administration. There’s enough to fill two prisons full with all of his accomplices. Instead, though, Russia will probably inherit hundreds of exiles. I can’t wait.
