The tragedy here is that UC Berkeley screwed her over not once, but twice. She spent several decades cultivating a high school mathematics program based on Eastern European math circles and university administrators destroyed it with an overzealous interpretation of a new state law for anti-predator fingerprinting requirements so world-class mathematicians could no longer easily give lectures to advanced math HS students. dailycal.org/news/campus/ge

Current students and Cal alumni should be absolutely livid at the dilution of what was once perceived as an elite education. The damage from these lax standards is for more pervasive than these people realize.
