Robotaxi is the future with no doubts. The question is when we can see millions of robotaxis. Waymo needs to cut down cost and scale up quickly.
90% fewer injuries with autonomous vehicles? Thatโ€™s huge. So why arenโ€™t we moving faster to roll this out? Itโ€™s time to cut the red tape, build trust, and invest in the infrastructure we need. Letโ€™s get this life-saving tech on the road everywhere.
You can become the default last mile connection option across all metro stations in the world. Would be such an amazing and useful thing for this earth.
Did the research adjust for highway Vs non highway driving? Waymo doesn't do freeways yet except in phoenix in my understanding. Still 90% safer is huge and it's only improving.
I hope we get a commercial such as: "Waymo is.... Waymo inexpensive.... Waymo convenient.... Waymo safe.... Waymo fun...." In the 80s it would happen.
Hi, I'm visiting Austin tis weekend and wanted to check if there is a possibility to get an invitation code to try Waymo. By the way, I signed up for the waiting list back in May as well. Appreciate it and thank you :)
Maintaining human agency is often discussed with AI but should that always be the goal? In the case of driverless technology, Waymo was found to reduce in bodily injury rates by 92% and property damage by 88%. Perhaps sometimes human agency should not be maintained but banned?
I can't wait to have my own RV powered by Waymo. You see, being a cat, it's difficult to operate the gas & brakes while keeping an eye on the road, especially when I've been drinking. Thanks. ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ’ฐ

snoozefest. give us a list of all the mines needed to create your boring car, the pong level computers that run it, and all the labor that goes into creation, maintenance, etc. a truly autonomous car would create itself lol

made a massive + counterintuitive realization for how to hit real scale while avoiding the cost knife fight that is selling to multifamily trying to decarbonize + homebuilders that spend <$1K/stove.
How would your life change if you stopped spending time making predictions, ruminating and talking about them, and instead reassigned every bit of that time and energy actively engaging with the world as it is?
