Trump’s unilateral decision to impose a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico is most likely illegal and most definitely harmful.  Economists estimate that these will increase costs for the average American family by as much as $1,200 a year. We need to drive prices DOWN, not UP.

Opposing TPP and other free trade agreements is very different from supporting random punitive tariffs against our allies. It would be nice if Bernie were more pro-trade, but nevertheless it's consistent for him to oppose unjustified trade wars.

The unity both the left & the right had around killing TPP was really frustrating. TPP was a good idea, but since both Trump & Bernie opposed it, it kinda squeezed mainstream Dems into abandoning it to place both “the base” and to appeal to those across the aisle.

We can save old grudges for after the fascists are gone. Liberals need to remember, socialists are better than fascists. When liberalism coexists with socialism, we get The New Deal. Fascists don’t coexist with anyone, and when they take over, we get an inevitable collapse.
