Actually, this is probably not legal ANYWHERE in America, . US fire lanes now need to be at least 20' wide, and probably 26' with the new code and high eaves. ⬇️This lane looks to be <15'.⬇️

Pretty sure that Switzerland allows roads half as wide and less and yet home fire casualty rates seem to be lower.
There are more casualties (and a higher casualty rate) in detached single-family homes. If reducing fire casualties were the TRUE motivation, the fire lobby would seek to ban single-family homes.
Reminds me of a visitor to my very remote house years ago complaining that there were no signs and it was impossible to find. He asked what would happen if the 🚒 needed to get to us? Simple - head towards the smoke and 🔥.
Fire code is insane. We have basically solved the problem, and yet we make things more difficult for everyone every year. And someone many many fewer fires means we need more firefighters.

City planners and elected officials love public meetings and they will hold 20 of them for a little bike lane but there will be 0 public notice when they let a private company install hundreds of surveillance cameras throughout your neighborhood.

How do we build like 10,000 of these to solve our housing crisis?

Fantastic concept for an apartment building in Barcelona by Alihan Dumankaya I have lots of love for pale green tiles and timber shutters!

This absolutely must be stopped. The constant bloat in fire department demands that has no bearing on safety while needlessly stealing space for people and housing has to end.

Yesterday I heard the story of a fire marshal demanding that ALLEYS be 26 feet wide
