Just weeks after Tulsi's visit to Damascus, Assad unleashed a deadly chemical attack on Khan Shaykhun.

In 2015, Tulsi directed a tweet at her now fellow cabinet nominee Marco Rubio, encouraging him to support Russia's intervention in Syria, amid a joint Assad-Russia hospital bombing campaign.
Tulsi's 2017 trip to meet Assad was arranged by affiliates of the Syria Social Nationalist Party, a virulently antisemitic irredentist political party allied with the Assad regime.

While the Maduro regime brutalized Venezuelan pro-democracy protesters, Tulsi blamed her nominator, Donald Trump, of "sabre-rattling," and called for the administration to work with Russia.
