This is Nico East, a 147-unit, market-rate, "luxury" building that opened in Minneapolis in 2019 because of a series of YIMBY reforms. It may single-handedly* be responsible for the outcome of the election. Housing is a democracy issue.

It's absolutely nuts that if Minnesota had 26 less people in the 2020 census this map would be 269-269 instead of a Harris win. Very possible 26 people in Minnesota completely flip the outcome of the entire presidential election.

The congressional seat in question would have gone to New York, which is also a blue state. The map would still be 270 to 268. npr.org/2021/05/01/991…

No housing is a HUD issue, and all comments and complaints should have been made to their departments. Instead people are claiming sets over the different initiatives that HUD accredited firms have been pushing for, in the last 4 decades. Affordable for who? 65 mil on SSI?

Elon Musk is awarding $1 million randomly to registered voters in swing states who have signed the petition in support of the U.S. Constitution’s First and Second Amendments every day from now until the election. Do you think cash incentives will influence voter participation?

Tweet is incorrect, if MN had lost a district, NY would've kept one. Arguably MN staying at 8 CDs means an extra Republican in the House because the state's delegation is 4-4 instead of 4-3. (NY Dems might have blown it of course) MN's EVs also slightly more at risk than NY.

I’m very pro-housing, but that guy didn’t know what he was talking about. NY would have gotten it if MN didn’t.
i am so sick of a single building in Minnesota being singlehandedly responsible for the future of the world please abolish the electoral college
Even if this specific case is wrong the principle still applies. There's a very easy way for blue states to stop losing EV's that are usually go to red states; legalize more housing in cities where people want to live!
We should just strip rich people of voting rights. Why do they need it? If your net wealth is above $150,000 (which would put you in the top 20 percentile of Americans), you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Wealth is a single-handedly responsible for the outcome of all elections.
In CA everyone talks about issues like rent control, camps and safe spaces to sleep etc. And I'm beating my head against the wall shouting that it's all about the housing supply and to just build more housing, preferably dense housing, but ANY housing. It's so frustrating!
Instead of using political pundits to acclaim their success of erecting a single multi-unit building, they could use an Architect in the office of the Mayor, and deal with the gentrification and inflation problems directly, by removing the monopoly on housing.
I don't think a few hundred votes will alter the election. Especially when you consider that whoever moves in is probably not from another state.

The first legal market to trade the U.S Election. Will Trump or Kamala win?

Hi Ben, I’m one of the hundreds of new residents who became Democrats as soon as I moved in. Said no one.

I do wonder how much of this could be avoided by simply having more physicians per capita

One of the biggest evils in Ohio politics is that every county is only allowed 1 early voting location. Franklin County with 1.3 million people and Hamilton County with 800,000 have the same amount of locations as 12,000 person Vinton County.

My twin just sent me the line for early voting at the Hamilton County Ohio BOE. WOW.

People are associating the garbage truck stunts with Puerto Rico and not Biden’s comments.

The voter backlash to the Puerto Rico "garbage" remark is looking real. @danielmarans went to Pennsylvania and talked to a bunch of Puerto Ricans who are now either casting ballots for the first time for Harris or second-guessing Trump votes. huffpost.com/entry/pennsylv
