By 2026, 80% of #solar deployment will come from modules made in the United States. energy.gov/lpo/articles/l
It literally took less than four minutes to determine that your “fact check” was in fact, false. Was it deliberate dishonesty, or is it just an indication of the quality of your “research”?

Sure, the panels don’t, but the components that make up those panels certainly originate in china. They also refine a large percentage of global high quality silica.
That "fact check" is about as real as a unicorn. The two largest producers of solar panels are, in fact, China and India, and they’re buying up silver by the boatload since it's a key conductor in the panels. But sure, let’s pretend that isn’t happening. Fake fact-checking at its

A lot of materials used to manufacture Chinese solar panels come from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region, making the import of Chinese solar panels into the US illegal thanks to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.
You're quite literally a liar. And frankly we should be able to buy more directly from China. Under the Biden Harris and the previous Trump regime import restrictions on solar panels have precluded top quality panels at low prices. The question of course, is why do you lie?

Fact check: literally all the panels manufactured in aforementioned south-east Asian countries, are manufactured by Chinese companies that setup factories in said countries to avoid tariffs and take advantage of lower wages Anyone in the industry knows this
Sure would be helpful if the moderators had … idk a laptop with the internet to google stuff during the debate God forbid we put charts on a screen so the candidates and viewers could have some context and facts
While you're correct about the future of solar, these countries mainly act as middlemen, as China is still by far the largest global producer of solar parts
China repackages and ships it from Vietnam. We know the drill ;) it’s their playbook forever. So much for sanctions 😂
How much cheaper would solar be if U.S. doesn't impose this hidden tax? What would be the net effect on accelerating solar adoption rate? Whom does it help? U.S. consumer? Future of U.S. energy? Oil/coal industry and some politicians?
In 2023, the US imported 54 gigawatts (GW) of solar panels, an 82% increase from 2022. The US imports most of its solar panels from Southeast Asia, with Vietnam accounting for over 34% of imports in 2023. Other countries that import solar panels to the US include Malaysia,

Sure, the actual panels are here made in the USA, but where are all the parts coming from that goes into making the solar panels? A few people actually listen and did your research. She would see that in fact the parts that go into making the solar panels are mostly manufactured,

I live in MN, I have literally no place to buy solar panels locally, let alone have ever heard of a major factory in MN.

Oh, Michael… bless your heart but I'm glad called you out. I see what you were trying to do with that "fact check," but it’s a little like saying “I made dinner” when all you did was microwave a Hot Pocket. Sure, the panels may be assembled in Southeast Asia, but

Republicans senators killed early solar industry government funding to keep manufacturing the parts in the US. Much of the industry is in India.
Are you being dishonest, or are you actually this obtuse?

This is fact checking at its worst: Nearly all of our solar is coming from China. The fact that they are running components through other countries doesn't mean America isn't completely reliant on the Chinese solar industry. Vance was absolutely correct. x.com/curious_founde…

We can’t be a leader in solar panels when the EPA and environmental groups won’t let us dig up the required raw materials… and at an affordable cost.
First of all, he said “parts coming from china”. Secondly, the point was America isn’t producing any of the required materials or building the solar panels themselves. Try thinking once, buddy.
The parts start in China and are assembled in other countries and look at the small amount coming from America... the rest are not green countries

Patently false. As of 2024, approximately 78% to 80% of solar panels sold in the U.S. are manufactured in China. Despite efforts to boost domestic production, the U.S. continues to rely heavily on imports from China due to China's dominance in the global solar panel supply

China is the largest producer of solar panels globally and has been a major supplier to the U.S. for years. However, due to tariffs and trade restrictions, the direct import of solar panels from China has decreased somewhat in recent years. To circumvent tariffs and trade

Where are the raw materials and components for those panels coming from? Yep, China. Those countries are just store fronts for the CCP.
