The karma of 's triumph over CEQA is how how damn *FAST* it went down. The law that untold numbers of project opponents have leveraged for year after year after year of delays went from untouchable to demolished almost overnight. 1/4

When that trailer bill was released, spokespersons for -- for years the most forceful opponent of CEQA reform -- said it was like "slavery, Jim Crow, and immigration raids." /3

No, it's even crazier: certain labor leaders are comparing a bill that would establish *wage floors* for construction workers--floors that are way above minimum wage--to "Jim Crow, slavery, and immigration raids." 1/2 x.com/TahraHoops/sta…
A day later, having won an trivial concession, they switched their position to "Neutral." From Jim Crow to I dunno, just like that. The game was up. /end
Wiener's sundry of housing bills favor high rise, unaffordable, human warehouses for the rental market profiteers mostly. California cities are being densified to dangerous, unsustainable levels in a region sitting on a fault system as deadly as a nuclear blast.
The fight continues. Some groups will be trying to tweak things via clean up language in later iterations that could diminish the effectiveness of the hard-won changes in the current bill. Remain vigilant, and unto the next breach!
