The voters love OpenAI.
According to polling, none of the major AI discourse (e.g. Anthropic's fight with Trump) seems to have had much of an impact on public opinion of the AI labs.
Even among *people worried about catastrophic risks* OpenAI has a +8 favorability whereas Anthropic only breaks even.

FYI -- The above chart is about *frequent users* but when you look at all voters, "Don't know" is much more common. OpenAI still leads all the labs but opinion is decidedly more mixed.
I don't think anyone knows about the Trump/Anthropic thing. I mention it to my students and their families frequently and it's always news to people.
Ai art is SLUDGE! but AI tools in general is a GREAT technological advancement for society. There's tons of problems with ai messing with the environment, but we should improve the tech to fix that issue, not throw everything away and call it "EVIL".

Well, if they love OpenAI, then they should have no problem with 5 mega data centers being built in their backyard.
Haven't had a subscription to ChatGPT since May of 2024, but re-subscribed after the Sol 5.6 release this summer.
Ridiculous value for money, especially for visual work, as it also includes image generation. Would cancel Ant, but I have a yearly sub.
Voters hating AI but liking the AI companies is pretty incredible.
Obviously people who use AI like it; people who don't like it don't use it.
