Was there a phone in everyone's hand back then? I spent 5 hours downtown giving water, food, and supplies to protestors, who were peaceful and supportive. You're letting an tiny minority of the protestors skew your perspective, exactly what the right wants

They donโ€™t care, because to them itโ€™s not a demonstration intended to win political support - itโ€™s a Direct Action, intended to cosplay a revolution.
Your mistake is believing that the people in the left photo earnestly have a just an equal society as their goal in the same way the people in the right photo did.
Our activists have no class. Nor do our antagonists. We are an ugly country of charlatans and snake oil salesmen. Our comedians have become politicians and our politicians have become clowns. I hope anyone that is a shill of their own brand of political neurosis at least knows
While that is true, what really matters is the truth and they are truthfully showing us who they are and what they stand for. No amount of PR can fix that.
Burning cars and defiantly waving foreign flags seems more like an insurrectionist show of force over an infiltrated border.
You are doing a great job standing up for a fascist movement with your desperate need for attention. Posting opportunistic screenshots from a movement you don't know, or care anything about.
That image looks bad on the left. One on right looks amazing. I think the motorcycle flag waving image looks cool though. It doesn't have graffiti or a visible car burning.
seems like an invading force holding their country's flag is the appropriate image for an ethnic replacement movement, actually.
There is no โ€œmovementโ€. Wide open borders isnโ€™t a movement. Thereโ€™s no good messaging advocating no borders. Your premise is nonsensical. But yeah, reason with them. Write a long Substack about it. Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™re all big readers and critical thinkers.
Drew is demonstrating just how shallow his understanding of what's going on. On the right is a civil rights movement - not without its problems but at the core are a subject of human rights. On the left is movement that wants to destroy the western democracy and install Marxism
I agree with the sentiment Drew, but what youโ€™re asking for isnโ€™t possible. This isnโ€™t a movement, itโ€™s an angry reaction. What youโ€™re seeing is social unrest caused by a poorly managed mass deportation effort. Thereโ€™s no one that can organize the effort. Thereโ€™s also the
That looks like a disaster and +10% approval rating for trump if he shut them down in el salvador. Just like BLM, destroying shit and burning american flags will only make americans hate mexicans and want them kicked out.

Protest: Waving multiple non us flags while wearing outfits like they belong in hamas. The Protest if it Had Brains: wave the United States flag, holding posters with famous pro immigration quotes, yelling pro america chants.

Looks like the OP is about to find out that things arenโ€™t what the OP thought they were.
spare me, you have the charisma and media savvy of a humpback whaleโ€ฆ get fucked you loser-ass dork

the civil rights movement didn't start like this on day one. the picture on the right was the result of years of organizing ICE is terrorizing communities. I'm not going to question the aesthetic choices of the people being terrorized. but you do you
What if making change isn't actually the highest or most urgent priority, but rather a "reach goal" to consider only after feeling more empowered and gaining in-group status? ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ
you can say whatever you want but itโ€™s well known to never police how people protest, you have no idea what theyโ€™ve experienced so itโ€™s best to let everyone process their lives according.
Going with what youโ€™re trying to compare, the guy on the left might be a Malcom X approach, and not an MLK approach. Also, we know nothing of the actual guy on top of the car. He could just be a rioter and not any leader of whatever is happening. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s โ€œendorsed.โ€
Why do leftists have to turn every potentially positive demonstration into a grotesque destructive Anti-American vanity parade. They refuse to understand optics.
Why is everyone assuming that rioters are part of a movement? These guys will join any movement so they can live out their anarchist fantasies.
If the conservative media sphere existed during the Civil Rights Movement, they'd be broadcasting Malcolm X and the violent types over Martin Luther King, Jr. all day, every day.
It is worth noting that MLK still was shot. He was accused of being a radical and communist to no end and was highly unpopular in polling. If you were around then you most likely would have not supported him.
Probably he's not even Mexican. Just another western tankie who hates capitalism & western civilization & wants to burn them to the ground cause he's too bored with the good life they provide. Has no idea how rough life can really be.
It depends on the point of view, but there is always criticism depending on your political stance. Yesterday and today.

They are not "political" protesters. Trump created a situation where various trouble makers are drawn out to the protest. In a large area like LA they are always around.
Honestly, the optics look so bad and with the guy covering his face, you cannot tell me this is not a psy op
How about this presenting the movement, from yesterday

Earlier a Latina protester scolded a Hispanic SRG officer for cracking down and aiding into taking orders for ICE. Calling him a โ€œtraitorโ€, that heโ€™ll never be โ€œaccepted by his white peersโ€. His family wonโ€™t be excluded from ICE crackdown and theyโ€™ll quickly throw him too.
Ironically people defending abrasive tactics cite the part of Letter from Birmingham Jail where MLK complains about white moderates slowing down progress complaining about strategy. Yet MLK was still smart in how he went about things
Similar such instances happened during the Civil Rights movement, and were blasted all over by the right wing media. This does not change the reality that the protests have been peaceful, with very limited violent outbursts
The difference is actually not one being more violent than the other, but the fact that social media and photography technology exist today.
This is why they donโ€™t care

Shower thoughts on the far left: The far left isnโ€™t really interested in politics, theyโ€™re interested in moral performance. Social purity, identity signaling, and aesthetic radicalism matter more than persuasion or power.
*psst* they shot the guy in the right in the head when he noticed peace didn't work anymore up north for less obscene racism and targeting actual wealth inequality
For the millionth time - those are not protestors. They are off duty cops and neo-Nazis who are trying to create violence to justify more violence.
There isnโ€™t a movement and wonโ€™t be. The internet and its โ€œinfluencersโ€ have made sure that anyone who achieves notoriety fighting for anything will become personally wealthy and invested in the status quo.
Where is your tweet condemning showing up to the White House wearing workout clothes?
