🚨 China is not even hiding it any more… the country has unveiled a compact, deep-sea, cable-cutting device, capable of severing the world's most fortified underwater communication or power lines at depths of up to 4,000m — twice the maximum operational range of existing subsea communication infrastructure. The device has been designed specifically for integration with China's advanced crewed and uncrewed submersibles like the Striver (奋斗者 / Fendouzhe) and the Haidou (海斗) series. Developed by China Ship Scientific Research Centre (CSSRC) and its affiliated State Key Laboratory of Deep-sea Manned Vehicles, the device targets armored cables — layered with steel, rubber and polymer sheaths — that underpin 95% of global data transmission. While it was created as a tool for civilian salvage and seabed mining, the dual-use potential of the tool could send alarm bells ringing for other nations. For example, it can be used to cut cables near strategic chokepoints such as Guam. amp.scmp.com/news/china/sci msn.com/en-us/news/new

The cutting tool’s design was presented in “深海缆线电动切割装置设计” (Design of an Electric Cutting Device for Deep-sea Cables), a peer-reviewed paper published in the Chinese-language journal Mechanical Engineer (机械工程师) on Feb 24. The research team was led by engineer Hu

So are you saying that the Taiwanese were lying when they said they capture a ship with Chinese nationals trying to cut the undersea cables?
The U.S. should declare that attacking specific lines, just like attacking commsats, will be considered an act of war.
Clearly this was made public for a reason. I assume that reason is FAFO. We are starting to play hardball with them but this will have been announced on purpose to say 2 can play at that.
The US will continue arrogantly coping. “Look at that thing, it’ll fall apart after 2 minutes! Lolol”
It would destroy them as well , No matter what . We here in America have all the food and guns we need to survive , do they ??

South County San Diego's coastline faces a "ticking time bomb" of raw sewage and toxic chemicals, threatening 750,000 residents and local tourism. We asked local officials how this environmental crisis has become a public health nightmare. Watch now.
How do you even think that they're helping the Russians in cutting cables with NATO members in Europe while cutting cables through Taiwan?
Just sink the ships, and deny everything. You need to play the same game and if course sabotage china’s internet infrastructure
bitch please, China doesn't need to use this to show they have better technology than Taiwan, we are not in the 1990s anymore.
China has repeatedly used fake merchant ships and fishing vessels to cut Taiwan’s undersea cables. The last time, it seems they cut another one up in Northern Europe? Route of the Shunxing39 between Dec 5 2024 and Jan 3 2025.
