I’ve been reading for several years about technologies in the lab that will revolutionize batteries. 2x(+) energy density, longer life, cheaper to manufacture, but so far nothing. It seems like none of the revolutionizing technologies are making it out of the lab.
been hearing this since 2011 not really optimistic batteries will replace oil but this really is the point isn't it? get enough people to believe in a distant future no matter the probability to become rich.
We’re predicating energy policy today on technology that does not yet exist and that’s a big mistake.
Seems to me tons of profits are being made - tool batteries specifically have not come down in price nearly as much as their input costs made me expect.
Curiously I've been looking at batteries stocks after reading this and they're all doing pretty terribly. Are they not recognised or is there something else holding back investors?
