The DC Council just passed legislation to allow single-stair apartment buildings up to six stories. Allowing single-stair buildings: ✅ Reduces housing construction costs ✅ Enables housing on narrow city lots ✅ Facilitates more family-sized units The bill passed unanimously.

The "One Front Door Amendment Act" was introduced by
@BrianneKNadeau
. It requires one more vote from the full Council and the Mayor's signature before becoming law. Once enacted, it will require the Department of Buildings to update DC's Construction Codes by July 1, 2027.
