I analyzed the FEC donation records of employees of America's top 100 tech companies:
1) American tech employees overwhelmingly donate to Democrats, tech CEOs are increasingly split
2) Even companies like Palentir and Anduril lean Democratic, though their employee giving is drowned out by their founders - Founders also drown out employees at OpenAI
3) CEOs and executives are ~70x more likely than employees to have switched their giving from D's to R's after Trump won - at specifically all 11 of their non-retired executives who gave in 2024 to Democrats switched to giving to Republicans after Trump won

White collar roles at tech companies are overwhelmingly Democratic, while their blue collar employees give to D's and R's at equal rates.
In the 2020 Dem Presidential primary:
1) Sanders support highest for gig workers, lowest for CEOs
2) Executives/lawyers/government affairs
Do you have a comparison to 2020 vs 2024/2026? Curious how “real” the Big Tech exodus was among tech employees, vs just the CEOs
From a person weighted perspective CEO's went 89% to 84%, staff went from 91% to 87% - the big CEO exodus has been since 2024.
The dollar weighted figures are pretty different but dominated by Elon Musk's giving.
What is up with OpenAI, do they not understand that the parties kinda alternate in power?
Makes me think co-determination would help with the increasing politicalization of tech companies for right wing ends by CEOs
Id guess employees give based on political ideology but CEOs give for business/access reasons
Perhaps CEOs are overpaid and have terribly structured incentives therefore work against share holder and employee interest because of it.
