It doesn't matter how cheap the solar is if the returns they will get on the market is less than the cost of construction... That's the challenge to getting to huge shares like that. And finite transmission exacerbates this.

40% Solarstrom ist nett - aber für 80% müsste bei uns erst mal das Netz wach werden. In Deutschland schaffen wir nicht mal die simplen Speicherlösungen. 👍

Every state/nation with a high percentage of solar has the most expensive electricity in the world. And then, as happened to Spain, you lose power for days. Which has an economic impact. The “cheap” solar hype is a bit less honest than the claim Biden was fine.
