The result?
The distance between them is no longer narrowing.

If the technology is good, it is going to succeed! EVs won't go away even if Trump takes away US tax credits. Trump is allowing china and the EU to control the next generation of energy technologies while the US tries to get the last dollar out of fossil fuel, gasoline and diesel
Relative lack of affordable EVs in NA is hampering growth. So are the confusing incentives that mostly benefit high earners.
While electric cars are cool and I wouldn't mind having one for my commute, any feelings of having been left behind disappear when I press the start button on my V8 and it burbles to life.
John, about 50 Million EVs are on the roads now. 300 Million 2/3 wheelers and about 1 M buses. That should have dented the global oil demand a bit but I have seen no recent number. Almost 2 years ago that number was about 2M bpd.
