Citizens tend to rally around their current leaders when faced with external threats, I guess it works the same for trade wars as well as actual wars.

That is not true. Their current lead is 19 points. The tariffs are however the worst thing for the Conservatives because Canadians hate the tariffs and they like the Liberals pushing back.

I trust Canadian polling as much as I do US polling that showed President Clinton won in 2016 and Harris is of course our current President by a blow out margin.

If Trump winning threw off Poilievre's numbers so badly, Canadians just don't want it enough.

The CPC fell but they're still +15 to +20 ahead instead of +25 to +30. EKOS is not a credible pollster.

It is Trudeau's government that Trump is furious with. That's a fact and it is not only economics. The best hope is a change in guard, and economic revival. Which is clearly one of Trump's goals, considering who thinks benefits from North American weakness.

Poilievre is a weak, uncharismatic candidate. People were voting to reject Trudeau, not necessarily to support Poilievre. Trudeau's resignation may allow the Liberals to survive the election with a new leader and for a stronger, more national-conservative leader to rise in Canada

Actually we are. This is the most Trudeau had fought for Canada in the better part of a year. If the tariffs continue into March expect that honeymoon bump to be gone and the Conservatives still have a good buffer.
