Australia joined the Asian Football Confederation in 2006 because we were playing tiny island nations in Oceania then having to beat the 3rd best team in South America to qualify.
Now this year they just handed a free Oceania spot to NZ.
Are there really that many people that don't know that Australia represents the Asian Confederation in football?
In football terms they are Asian last team.
For example, Israel will also be an European team they play for UEFA.
