call me crazy but maybe a year is enough time to say it's a coincidence instead of your head cannon where he festered his hatred every day in the tallest room of the tallest evil tour of his making sure they'd rue the day they took his piano from him
Trumpโs father not letting him go to USC for film ended American hegemony. Like a tree of life scene
It really is insane just how many of his policies are motivated by some grudge he held for 30 years. It's like Larry David using Seinfeld bits in Curb Your Enthusiasm but less funny.
He's so damn petty. Every factoid like this just reconfirms that almost every stance he takes is out of some past grievance.
Wait, is this the same CASABLANCA piano thatโs now in the Academy Museum here in LA.? Itโs not even in some guyโs personal collection and heโs still this mad about it lol
It is to be said that Japan in the 80s was considered a significant threat and that there was a Nippophobia that is not dissimilar to the Sinophobia felt by America today.
The US will see anyone who experiences success big enough to become independent as an enemy to bring down.
We are on the receiving end of his decades long pettiness and revenge tour
turns out Trump is an Xbox fan. This whole thing is just console wars
Why is everything a fucking Citizen Kane reference whatโs next he gets a loud fucking bird in the Oval Office?
This is yet another reason why nobody should have been surprised. Trump has touted tariffs for decades.
And it just gets worse and worse as time goes by. He canโt let the grudges go.
So what youโre saying is we can draw a straight line from Sam singing โAs Time Goes Byโ in Rickโs Cafe to the second Great Depression?
His beef with Japan goes even further:
Trump is basically "revenge is a dish best served cold" in human form
If this was reported without the โwhyโ it could be used by insane people to prove his consistency, but including the root cause of all of this is such a perfect piece of lore

This has been his thing for decades! Nobody has ever successfully explained international trade and the benefits of running a deficit to him, he just thinks โitโs a bad dealโ, and now heโs gonna crash the entire American economy because of it. Itโs so goddamn funny.
You know what? I can't blame him. Imagine bidding for an item you really want and some asshole swoops it.
