Seems Turkish and American interests don’t converge (at all) as regards Ukraine. Trump wants Russian energy back on the market so that he can fully stem the flow of Iranian energy to China without blowing up prices. Turkey’s increasingly in the way.
Turkish support for Ukraine should be conditional on ending the Turkish invasion of Kurdish lands & oppression of the Kurds!

I was hoping zelensky’s big announcement was an exclusive reconstruction (or mineral rights) deal with turkey in exchange for unprecedented military aid. Then Ukraine would have leverage to make the Us garuntee not to cut off promised aid in exchange for 30% of mineral rights.

Nonsense. Turkey is barely hanging on to its NATO membership as it is. Its vote carries little weight.
The war in Ukraine began, in part, because NATO moved east towards the Russian border despite assurances by NATO that it would not do so. If you want even more war, then by all means, add Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, etc.
Erdogan & Turkey cannot decide on Ukraine's membership in NATO alone. All 42 member states of NATO must agree on it. If a single country opposes, the application will not be approved. Don't you remember what happened with Sweden's application?
Of course they want Ukraine in NATO. This will tie up Russia and Europe while Turkey slides into Syria.

They are fully aware of the evil stuff that Russia pulls, and that they are a threat to Turkish national and regional interests in the Middle East. They want to limit Russian power now (as the idiotic strategic moves by Trump to not take advantage of Russia's weakness).
President Trump issued an executive order indicating that he will focus on using the Alien Enemies Act to combat international cartels that have become entwined with “mafia states”.
Except Turkey should be kicked out of NATO for supporting isis, al qaeda, and every type of suni terrorist organization out there.
