The Bay Area proper is built out, but even if you weren't willing to allow more density, there's *tons* of flat land inland to put houses on that isn't even that far away, yet aside from Tracy there's been nothing even vaguely resembling how the Texas cities have grown.

The San Francisco area is one of the most beautiful in the world for human settlement. Why would we want to destroy it with even more ugly overdevelopment and overpopulation? We should be cutting its population by several million to protect it and its quality of life.

The New York Times reports that AI is forcing colleges to pare down their admissions essays, which is great news. Having a counselor carefully polish your essay to dance to the exact tune admissions officers wanted was always bad, and never “authentic.” AI just lays it bare.
