I just don't think "how DARE you say something positive about RONALD REAGAN" is a useful attitude if you want to flip Congress in 2026 or get a progressive president in 2028. Pic related.

Literally a correct point but in context cmon… if the complaint de jure is democrats only at best weakly complain about the descent into fascism (ding ding) than yeah this plays into that perspective. Im so sick of “return to norms” democrats.
I would not have chosen the “Reagan is better than Trump and gosh/golly we all know stuff needs fixing let’s do it together!” strategy.

Are people still sharing LSAT questions on here? I found a good one in my practice book

The left has lost any concept of shades of gray. You can’t say “Reagan did some good things” without them calling you a full-blown Reagan groupie
I despise Ronald Reagan for obvious reasons, but I think it make sense strategically now to appeal to Reagan Republicans for the reason they might be willing to work with Dems against Trump. Leftists don't seem to realize this.
really? who thinks Joe Rogan is better than Trump? and better at what? podcasting? as human beings, they are basically the same.
I know she's not saying she likes Reagan. But I'm trying to understand why, after we saw the failure of appealing to conservative voters with people like Bush or Cheney, are we celebrating the use of Reagan?! Why do we keep doing this?!
If someone says "Hitler loved animals" then it's perfectly valid to ask why they felt the need to mention this particular factoid and wonder whether they might actually like Hitler.
You can argue that being pro-Reagan is a popular position, arguing that Slotkin didn’t say a pro-Reagan statement is just ignoring the existence of context
If only there were an extremely popular 4 term democratic president who they could talk up instead of Reagan
Mhm if you online bitchlibs explain it enough times, wishing for Reagan will seem sensible. Give it another week and another hundred thousand tweets or so
Is all you libs care about is being better than Trump? Reagan is responsible for a lot of of the shit we are in today.
Maybe don’t envoke Regan at all because he’s a big reason weywhere we are, Trump is the logical conclusion to Regan. He is shit and should never be brought up positively
Uh. I still think the intent was to cater to people who like Reagan? If not, why would you say it? It's just a terrible message. Idk.
Ask yourself why she's making this comparison. Who is she appealing to? It ain't dems and it ain't leftists so who does that leave?
Right, by favorably comparing Reagan to Trump they didn't mean to express positive sentiment towards Reagan. You're a fucking dog brained waste of space
Reagan was without a doubt worse than Trump. You know nothing about either presidency if you believe otherwise.
Leftists know perfectly well what she was doing. It was a Democratic leader once again trying to peel off moderate Republicans instead of working to secure the left flank. THAT is what leftists are complaining about. Not because she simply "praised Reagan".
Get out of here any glazing of Reagan is dogshit he was a racist facist imperialist pos. You would never hear a republican say “we miss the fdr democrats” but all the dnc knows how to do is search for this imaginger centrist voter who doesn’t exist
Reagan “winning the Cold War” is propagandist bullshit that is reinforced every time a Dem says something like this. He paved the way for trump with his “moral majority,” we should never be “thankful” he was in office, even if it’s by comparison.
That's not why people are mad. They are mad because this is just another example of the establishment DNC desperately trying to appeal to Republicans who will literally never vote for them. You could've name dropped any president, but she name dropped one of their faves lmfao
Ok but she called Reagan and Bush "men of moral clarity".... That's wholly incorrect and ignorant of the atrocious things both of them said and did
Do you think it was a good speech, aware of the current media environment? Or do you think maybe it was a bad speech? Courting the concerned Republican fails every time they try. Just stop doing it. You can criticize Trump without ever mentioning Ronald Reagan once
