80% of Chinese STEM grads stay in the US. They build American companies, advance American science, power the American economy. The ones that go back home PAID to be influenced by America. They often return with a love of the USA and a deep connection to America.

The U.S. will begin revoking visas of Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields.

“T ones ta go back home [often go] w a love of the USA and a deep connection to America.” T ones ta go back home (some even producing Elon Musk level innovations and businesses) may do so bc of a bias against Chinese in many large U.S. Corps ta held them (& t U.S.) back!
How long do they stay. As I understand it, U.S. law requires them to leave within three years, an immensely self-destructive policy.
ok lets say only 10% are spies... that 10% does WAY more damage than the supposed good done by the large number you reference
And absolutely NONE of that 80% send stolen IP home or are harassed by CCP operatives into doing so. The Chinese students I worked with came to the US alone; CCP held their families hostage so the students wouldn't defect and otherwise do the state's bidding.
Those who stay start infiltrating the US businesses and become spies. Chinese students have relatives in China and just can't say no to CCP. It is really funny how tech consciously pretends to be blind to direct and obvious threats to national security.

As to the US situation with Chinese spies: ”all of the FBI’s field offices across the country were working on cases around Chinese espionage and that the FBI opened a new Chinese counterintelligence investigation “about every 10 hours.” thehill.com/policy/cyberse 2/2
